Capcom Store Tokyo

Capcom Store Tokyo

Did you know that there’s now a Capcom Store (Tokyo) in Japan? In this post, I’ll share some information and tips about the newest addition to the Capcom Fan experience in Tokyo, Japan!

Hello! Are you a fan of Capcom Games? Or have you only just started playing their games? Perhaps you are planning to do so? Well then…

UPDATE OCTOBER 2020: Great News! Capcom has partnered with Parco to sell some of its Capcom Cafe goods on its web-store! Check out the Parco-Capcom Webstore section for more details!

Welcome to the Capcom Fan Family! ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶

Some of my favorite arcade/video games as a kid (and an adult) were from Capcom. I remembered all the fun times I had playing the various editions of Street Fighter, Devil May Cry (Dante!!) and of-course, more recently the Ace Attorney series

If you have never played any of these games, do yourself a favor and pick them up now!!

On that note, I’m going to shine the spot light on the newest geek-out place in Japan – the Capcom Store Tokyo!

Although all the hype in 2019 has been on the new Nintendo Store (and rightly so) in Tokyo but did you know that Capcom has also opened a store next to the Nintendo Store in Shibuya Parco? Yes, you read that right. Capcom has now opened up a (permanent) shop space to sell some of its exclusive merchandises! The grand opening was on 22 November so it is still very new.

Previously, you could only buy their merchandises at their various pop-up shops or at the Capcom Cafe itself. This is good news for me because as I always stay in Ikebukuro (for obvious reasons (≧◡≦) ♡ ), Shibuya is so much nearer than say Aeon Lake-Town Mall.

In addition, they are also selling past cafe collaborations exclusive items at the Capcom Store! See the section on Capcom Store Tokyo Goods for more information.

Capcom has also opened up a new branch of Capcom Cafe in Ikebukuro too! (There is now a total of 2 Capcom Cafes in Tokyo area itself).

I’ve already shared about the Capcom Cafe at length in my previous posts. You can read about my super fun experiences to the Ace Attorney x Capcom Cafe here in 2018 and here in 2017 (´・ᴗ・ ` )

Capcom Store Tokyo

Can’t wait to visit the shop!

Although I didn’t manage to visit the Capcom Store Tokyo this year (I’ve already penciled it in for my 2020 trip!!!), I had the next best thing —

In early December 2019, my super awesome friends visited the store in Shibuya Parco, so I was living vicariously through them via whatsapp hahahaha. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶

And thanks to them, I could do up a small update with photos on the store here in my blog! I will update this post again after my 2020 trip, so do subscribe to my blog to be the first to read about it when I do!

The Capcom Store Tokyo is located at the 6th Floor of Shibuya Parco Shopping Mall.

When my friends were there on a weekday afternoon, there wasn’t much of a queue in Capcom Store Tokyo unlike the Nintendo Store, which had like a 90-minute wait time to get into the store! (⊙_⊙) There were still a lot of people at the Capcom Store though.

Just a side-note that the Nintendo Store is actually much larger in shop space than the Capcom Store. I will do up a post about the Nintendo Store when I’m there in 2020 so watch out for it!

A 90-minute wait!!! My friends decided not to brave the wait for the Nintendo Store.

There’s also photo-spots in the Capcom store which you can take photos at. Here’s one of them:

Capcom Store Goods

So, what can you buy at the Capcom Store? Well plenty, it turns out!

As mentioned earlier, the store will be selling several past exclusive Capcom Cafe collaboration campaigns goods (I’m still hoping they will bring back the eco-bags of Dai Gyakuten Saiban 大逆転裁判 ) and other Capcom titles related merchandises.

A) Perfumes (Toilette/Cologne)

Perfumes? Yes, perfume! ^ ^ Bet most of you didn’t know that Capcom actually sold perfumes (Toilette/Cologne) of their characters!  Now you can breathe and wear the scent of your favorite game characters.  (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄)

Capcom Perfumes! The original Ace Attorney perfumes (25ml bottles)

The first Capcom perfumes were released in 2015 for the Monster Hunter Cross X Capcom Cafe. Thereafter, they continued to release limited edition perfumes for several of their cafe collaborations. As of 2019, there were 17 types of perfumes manufactured.

For the full range of the perfumes/eau de toilette released by Capcom, please visit here.

Previously, these were only sold during the Cafe collaborations period at the Capcom Cafe but now you can buy them ALL at the Capcom Store Tokyo!  o(≧▽≦)o

Perhaps realizing that many of their fans might have a budget or we just like to buy everything, Capcom has also recently released a mini-version of their original toilette/cologne in sets of 10 ml bottles each.

Now this is great for those on a budget (like me) yet still want everything!  The smaller bottles also double up as a great gift/souvenir idea for fans! Anyone wants to gift me one?

ACE ATTORNEY 逆転裁判

For Ace Attorney, Capcom split the original 25 ml bottles up into the Prosecutor Perfume Set (Miles, Godot, Klavier) and the Lawyers Perfume Set (Phoenix and Apollo). They are priced at 5800 yen (before tax) for the Prosecutor set and 4200 (before tax) for the Lawyer set.

Take note that the original 25ml Eau De Toilette bottles retailed at 4800 yen (before tax) each so this is a great price for the mini collection sets.

If you would like to know more about the Ace Attorney perfumes, do visit the Capcom Cafe Good section in my Ace Attorney Capcom Cafe 2018 post. I’ve included the scents and other intimate details ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶ about the bottles in there.

DEVIL MAY CRY

Apart from our favorite lawyers and prosecutors, you can also find the Capcom perfumes for the extremely cool trio of men from Devil May Cry 5. (Dante!! *swoons*)  The mini perfume collection set is selling at 5800 yen + tax.

Who wouldn’t want to wear the scent of one of these guys?!

Here’s an added bonus: Good news for the Devil May Cry fans! Capcom Cafe Ikebukuro is currently running the Devil May Cry 5 cafe collaboration campaign from 5 December 2019 to 15 January 2020. Details can be found here.

「囚われのパルマ」THE CAPTIVE PALM SERIES

I’m sure the gals (and boys too) are familiar with this mobile game. (⁄ ⁄•⁄ω⁄•⁄ ⁄) It is pretty popular in Japan. The Nintendo Switch version for the Japanese version of『囚われのパルマ Refrain』would be released in March 2020. Check out all the exclusive bonuses you can get if you pre-order yours now: https://www.e-capcom.com/palm/switch/plmr/

In the meantime, you can wear the scents while waiting for the game to arrive. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶

B) Plushies

Soft toys or plushies are one of those evergreen items that never really gets old. (´。• ᵕ •。`) ♡ I mean, who doesn’t like to cuddle up with their favorite characters? So naturally, Capcom has released quite a number of plushies over the years.

Here’s one of those that are selling exclusively at the Capcom Store.

Capcom Store Tokyo カプころん マスコットぬいぐるみ

These adorable small plushies (カプころん マスコットぬいぐるみ) are priced at 800 yen +tax each. Here’s the line-up: リオレウス、ロックマン、リュウ、プーギー、アイルー、アマテラス、伊達政宗、ハルト、成歩堂龍一、レオン、クリス、ダンテ

I first mentioned this as my wish-list item in my Ace Attorney Capcom Cafe 2018 post… and someone really bought this for me!! \(≧▽≦)/

Capcom Store Tokyo_Ryu Street Fighter small mascot plushie
Ryu is soooo cute!!

Thanks to my awesome friends, I’m now the proud owner of this adorable Ryu mascot plushie!! Look at how cute Ryu is! I love how they are not sold in blind packaging and we get to choose the plushie we want.

The downside though is several of the more popular characters get sold out very quickly. I had wanted アマテラス too but it was sold out (。•́︿•̀。) on the day my friends went to the Capcom Store Tokyo.

I struggled with Phoenix Wright’s one because while I adore Phoenix, his plushie didn’t exactly look like him. Considering I already have 3 plushies of him already (Small, Medium, Large LOL), I decided not to get him. Although if anyone wants to gift me one, I have NO OBJECTIONS to that ^ ^

Capcom Net-Catcher has announced the small plushies will be available as their online crane game prizes for a limited time so you can try it if you are in Japan too!

アマテラス!!

The larger sized plushie version of アマテラス was available but I didn’t feel right having my friends lug this back for me in their luggage so I resisted. Hopefully, it is still available when I go to the store next year~ There are currently 4 of the mascot plushies series available in the larger sizes.

There are other Capcom goods on sale at the Capcom Store, of course, such as stationary, towels, key-holders etc. For the full range of exclusive Capcom goods, check out their website: http://www.capcom.co.jp/amusement/capcomstore/item.html

Do note that items may be unavailable or sold out, and new items will be added, depending on when you are at the store. I also believe that what you see on the website is not the entire goods inventory at the Capcom store. There were quite a lot of goods I saw at the Capcom Cafe that was not featured on the website so I’ll expect you’ll see some of them at the physical store itself too.

IMPORTANT: Capcom Store Tokyo is NOT TAX FREE (Neither is Nintendo Store Tokyo)

And that’s it for my mini-update on the Capcom Store Tokyo. I’ll do a more in-depth update when I visit the store in 2020! So, stay tune. ٩(◕‿◕。)۶

Shibuya Parco

Since we are on the topic of Capcom Store Tokyo, let’s talk a little about Shibuya Parco, the mall that houses both the Capcom Store and Nintendo Store.

Shibuya Parco is not a new mall. It has been around for quite some time but has recently reinvented itself with several exciting new shops and concept. As a geeky fan, I’m naturally the most excited for its 6th Floor. Also known as Cyberspace Shibuya. ٩(。•́‿•̀。)۶

Shibuya Parco Cyberspace Shibuya Floorguide_Capcom Store Tokyo

For easy reference: Shibuya Parco Floor Guide/Mall Directory: https://shibuya.parco.jp/floor/

OMG! Look at all the awesome shops on Level 6! Seems like Shibuya (Shibuya Parco) is poised to become the next geeky fan place to visit in Tokyo. (The others being Ikebukuro “Otome Road”, Akihabara and Nakano Broadway) Not convinced? Look at the some of the shops in the mall alone:

  • Nintendo Tokyo
  • Capcom Store Tokyo
  • Pokemon Centre!! ポケモンセンターシブヤ (Tax Free)
  • Jump Shop (Tax Free)
  • Touken Ranbu Specialty Shop刀剣乱舞万屋本舗 (Tax Free)

However, do note that with the exception of Pokemon Centre and the Nintendo Store, most of the shops I have listed are not very big, so do adjust your expectations. It probably won’t replace the other places I have listed for anime/manga/games fans to visit BUT it is a good addition.  Also note that the Nintendo Store and Capcom Store are both NOT TAX-FREE.

Tip #1: The fastest way to know if a shop is tax-free is to check with the staff or try to see if there is a Tax refund/free label in the stores. Alternatively, you can check out Shibuya Parco’s mall directory (floor guide) where they will clearly state if it is tax free or not.

Tip#2: Do use the Japanese site (instead of the English site) if you want to look up information about the shops/facilities in Shibuya Parco. It is more informative and the floor guide is easier to use. Just use google translate if needed.

Parco-Capcom Web-Store

Great news! Now us overseas fans have an opportunity to get our hands on some of the Capcom cafe goods! As mentioned, Capcom Store Tokyo has partnered with Parco to sell their goods on their platform. Access the webstore here! And yes there are some (not all) of the past Ace Attorney Capcom Cafe goods! ^ ^

The store itself has integrated with a forwarding/buying service (WorldShopping) that overseas users can use. To learn more about forwarding/buying service, as well as other options (e.g. buying from multiple different stores), check out my guide: Geeky Goods Spotlight: Forwarder, Buying Service & Proxy Bidding (Anime Goods)
